TERROR OF SCIENCE: MIT researchers jump headfirst into the uncanny valley boldly ignoring Will Smith’s Frankenstein complex. Will we survive?
Confession: Sometimes I read political articles and scan for ones that will make the most interesting gstatus messages. This makes me a shallow person, and I accept that. When I was in high school, I screened song lyrics for away messages. I did this in college as well. Does my transition from AIM to googlechat represent a sort of evolution, or merely a maintainence of a generational status quo?
The Sixers and the Wizards are neck and neck. Last night, the Sixers beat the Celtics. I visited Boston last weekend, and I can’t decide whether or not to move from DC to Philly. Why does professional basketball parallel my life in the middle of March Madness?
This is all.
Dear Jed,
As I lay here, feverish and achy, I am compelled to cease my John Krasinski youtube bender and compose. You may remember Schuyler Fisk, who played the tomboy “Kristy Thomas” in the hit movie “The Babysitter’s Club”. She was cute and red-haired, and she may or may not have turned out to be a lesbian. This is hardly the point. The point is that she released an acoustic folk album, years later, and I am currently streaming it from her website, and I thought of you.
I’m sorry that no one appriciates the Christ symbolism in Russian emo movies. I personally think religious symbolism adds an element of depth to movies, and deep down, I suspect that Krando agrees with you. Sometimes people like to be stubborn. You wouldn’t know anything about that.
I think Flannery O’Connor gives some fantastic examples of unconventional Christ figures. I think Elaine would agree with me. You can borrow my copy of A Good Man is Hard to Find and slip in onto Krando’s bookshelf. Maybe they will learn something!
Last Valentine’s Day, we made fondue. Remember? I do and do not miss our fondue nights.
The hour grows late. To bed I go.
